Individuals with disabilities and their supporting teams (parents, teachers, family members, caregivers) often have limited knowledge and resources on tools and strategies available to help them in attaining their highest level of independence and self-determination. They have tried various tools, often with little success, and don’t know all the tools and strategies available to help them nurture their gifts and explore their potential to the fullest degree.
As an independent assistive technology specialist for over 20 years, I have the breadth and depth in my experience to assess what that individual needs at his/her level and align technology solutions that will give them the ability to meet their individual goals.
Once my clients have started working with me, they will not only learn more about tools that they can access, they will also learn how to make practical use of those tools, doing things that they didn’t think they could, and applying them in their daily lives with a higher degree of success.
They will gain confidence over time, feel less anxious and more supported, and feel proud of showing others their gifts and abilities. In turn, they’ll learn to become more independent, contribute to society at higher levels, and see deeper meaning in their lives.
