Fall Happenings
Summary
This post highlights my new logo and website, and provides information on upcoming presentations I am giving.
It’s been a while since I’ve taken the time to update everyone on what I’ve been doing, and what is coming up! I am very excited to let you know that I have a new logo and website that has just been published in the last month. Please take a look, and let me know what you think! This has taken a bit of time, but I am just thrilled with the results, and I can’t thank Jenny Huang, marketing specialist, Rhee Bevere, photographer, and Aardvark Web Design enough, for all their patience and help!
I have also been busy preparing for several upcoming presentations. I will be doing a FREE webinar on Sept 20th for the Central Coast office of the State Council on Developmental Disabilities, “Inclusion in Early Childhood: Universal Design and Assistive Technology”. It is being simulcast in Spanish, and the link to sign up is here. I am also getting ready for another FREE webinar on October 19th with Parents Helping Parents, “Assistive Technology for Life Skills”. Sign up for that one here.
I am also thrilled to be presenting at the upcoming Inclusion Collaborative State Conference! I will be presenting with Parents Helping Parents on the virtual pre-conference day, on “Family Engagement with Transition to Adulthood: Start Early, Repeat Often”. More information on the conference can be found here. This is a great conference that focuses on Inclusion strategies for preK-12, and is geared towards educators. I love that they also include as speakers adults with lived experiences to share- this year, one of the Keynote speakers is Jordyn Zimmerman, an autistic non-speaking educator and advocate. Can’t wait to hear her speak!
Finally, I have also been chosen to present as part of a panel for the Alliance for Technology Industry Association (ATIA) conference in Florida in January next year! I will be presenting on “From Reluctance to Resilience: Embracing Tech-Powered Aging” as part of their new strand focused on Elder Technology, with some amazing co-presenters. For more information on the conference, check out this website- https://www.atia.org/atia-2024/.
